MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - An investigation of a reported shooting of a police car that led to an hours-long lockdown in downtown Missoula earlier this month has found no indication of any bullets in the car, Interim Police Chief Mike Colyer said Tuesday.
Two X-rays of the car found no projectiles, Colyer said.
An officer reported his back window was shot on Feb. 12 while he was driving near the police station, resulting in a lockdown of several government buildings in the area and search for a possible gunman.
Colyer said he believed the response was appropriate
The case is still under investigation but Colyer says it’s possible there was a manufacturer’s defect with the window.
