PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are holding steady, but may not for much longer, AAA Northeast said Monday.
The price of a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.46, the same as last week, the organization said. That’s a penny lower than the national average and a whole dime higher that the in-state price one year ago.
Changes may be on the way,
“Gasoline prices are likely to fluctuate in the coming weeks, but not drastically, as the winter driving season nears its end and refineries undergo maintenance,” AAA spokesman Lloyd Albert said. “This is the typical trend this time of year.”
AAA found wide range of prices for regular, from a low of $2.29 to a high of $3 per gallon.
