TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) - Several people were rescued Sunday after falling through the ice while fishing on a Connecticut pond, officials said.

At least four people were pulled from the water at Burr Pond State Park in Torrington, officials said.

Two people were taken to the hospital by helicopters to be treated for severe hypothermia, NBC Connecticut reported.

Less than two hours later, authorities were called to nearby Mount Tom State Park for two men who had fallen into the pond, The Hartford Courant reported.

The men were pulled out the water and neither were taken to the hospital, officials said.
