SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Icy roads caused multiple crashes and temporary highway closures in Utah on Monday, officials said.
There have been at least 84 crashes statewide Monday morning since midnight, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. Most were in northern Utah.
I-15 and U.S. Highway 6 experienced temporary closures early Monday, and traffic remained delayed after I-15 reopened along the Wasatch Front.
Traffic on the roadways were getting back to normal as the day progressed, the highway patrol said in a tweet.
The Little Cottonwood Canyon road to two ski resorts also was briefly closed for avalanche control on Monday morning, which is a holiday and traditionally a busy ski day.
