MIAMI (AP) - The Florida Highway Patrol said a worker was killed early Sunday morning when a car careened into a construction road closure on I-95 in Miami.
The construction worker’s name wasn’t released pending notification of his family.
The Miami Herald reported the crash happened at 2:15 a.m., and all southbound lanes of I-95 were shut down until about 7:30 a.m.
The FHP said a black SUV and a white Toyota collided as they drove on Interstate 95, sending the SUV into the construction zone.
The SUV hit the man, a Ford pickup truck and some construction equipment. The worker was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead..
