TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Drivers in New Jersey and around the nation are again seeing lower prices at the pump amid continued low oil prices, a slight increase in East Coast inventories and demand at typical lower wintertime levels.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.48, down three cents from a week ago. Drivers were paying $2.32 a gallon a year ago at this time.
The national average gas price Friday was $2.43, down a penny from a week ago. A year ago, motorists were paying $2.28 a gallon.
Analysts caution that prices may increase following market optimism earlier in the week that the coronavirus outbreak had peaked, since “that optimism has since faded.”
