BOURNE, Mass. (AP) - One man was killed and another seriously injured early Saturday morning when their car crashed and caught fire in front of a school on Cape Cod.
Police in Bourne said the Mercedes sedan veered off a road and struck a stone wall in front of Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School shortly before 3:30 a.m. The car was engulfed in flames when officers arrived at the scene.
Officers used fire extinguishers and pulled two men from the car, authorities said.
Officials said the 23-year-old driver died and the 28-year-old passenger is in critical condition at a hospital. Both men are from Falmouth. Their names have not been released.
Police said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
