TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Drivers in New Jersey and around the nation are still getting the benefit of a mid-winter drop in prices at the pump amid increased supplies of gasoline and crude oil and decreased demand.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.55, down from $2.62 a week ago. Drivers were paying $2.33 a gallon a year ago at this time.

The national average gas price Friday was $2.48, down from $2.56 a week ago. A year ago, motorists were paying $2.25 a gallon.

Analysts expect the drop in prices at the pump to continue through mid-February, especially if crude oil prices continue to decline.
