GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A man whose body was found in a Grand Forks motel room over the weekend was the victim of a homicide, authorities said Monday.

Police said in a release that Jeffrey Shulzitski, 55, of Grand Forks suffered injuries that were consistent with “homicidal violence.” The statement said his death does not appear to be a random act and police do not believe there is any danger to the public.

Officers discovered the body Saturday afternoon when they were called to the Budget Inn Express for a welfare check.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and did not release further information.
