SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - Sparks police are looking for a hit-and-run suspect who fled the scene after a 64-year-old woman was hit by a car while walking in a marked crosswalk Thursday near an intersection just north of Interstate 80.

Police say the woman was taken to a local hospital where she was being treated for serious injuries.

The woman whose name has not been released was crossing the street at Pyramid Way and C Street at noon on Thursday when she was struck, police said.

The suspect vehicle appears to be an older white or silver four door Toyota Tercel or similar type vehicle, police said. It has black rims and a black front bumper, and may have suffered hood or bumper damage, they said.

Anyone with information should contact the Sparks Police Dispatch at (775) 353-2231 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
