BUCKNER, Mo. (AP) - A man died when the tractor he was driving was hit by a train near Buckner in northwestern Missouri, authorities said.

The crash happened just after 3 p.m. Wednesday in rural Jackson County, television station KMBC reported.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said the man was trying to cross Union Pacific tracks when his tractor was hit by an eastbound freight train. No one aboard the train was injured, investigators said.



Authorities had not released the tractor driver’s name by Thursday morning. The crash remains under investigation.
