RANDOLPH, Mass. (AP) - A 20-year-old Boston man died after his car left the roadway and struck a tree on Route 24 in Randolph, authorities say.

The car was headed north just before 4 p.m. Wednesday when it changed lanes at high speed, according to the preliminary investigation, state police said in a statement.

Thedriver lost control and the car went off the highway and rolled over into a tree.



The driver, who was the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name was not made public.

One lane was closed for three and a half hours while the investigation was being conducte.

The investigation is ongoing.
