MADAWASKA, Maine (AP) - Utility crews have been investigating a power outage that affected more than 10,000 customers in northern Maine.

Versant Power first reported the outage on Monday afternoon. The utility said the outage affected customers in Caribou, Madawaska and nearby communities in the area of Aroostook County in far northern Maine.

Crew were working to restore power to customers as quickly as possible, Versant representatives said. The company had not yet determined the cause of the power outage.
