JEFFERSON, Maine (AP) - A man was shot and killed in a confrontation with Lincoln County deputies, officials said Friday.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault involving a man and a woman, which led to the armed confrontation inside the residence early Friday, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department reported.
The man who was shot was not immediately identified. No deputies were hurt.
The Maine attorney general’s office, assisted by the Maine State Police, is investigating the incident as it does with all officer-involved shootings.
