PLATTEVILLE, Colo. (AP) - An investigation is underway after a body was found in a burning mobile home in northern Colorado.

Matt Concialdi, a spokesman for the Platteville Gilcrest Fire Protection District, says firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames when they arrived at the home in Platteville early Friday morning. A search turned up the bodies of a resident and a pet.

No other injuries or deaths have been reported, and the victim’s name has not been released.



Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire, and the Weld County coroner’s office will determine the cause and manner of death. Eighteen firefighters from multiple jurisdictions extinguished the blaze.

No other information has been released.
