CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson’s new police chief says one of his priorities is to revitalize a police advisory committee.

Jorge Campos aims to establish open communication between residents, students and city leaders, The Greenville News reported.

The committee will include five at-large members, one Clemson student and one Daniel High School student.

The City Council is accepting applications for the board now, which will meet monthly, Campos said.

The newspaper reports that the committee has been around in the past, but did not meet regularly this year.

Campos comes to Clemson from Gainesville, Florida.
