MACON, Ga. (AP) - A third man has been charged in a Nov. 22 shooting death in Macon, with deputies saying they caught him after a foot chase.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested 21-year-old Ja’Qwaray Hollingshed on Tuesday after being called to the scene of an attempted carjacking in Macon. While looking for a suspect, deputies spotted and chased down Hollingshed.

He was charged with murder, two counts of armed robbery, willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer and aggravated assault in the death of 49-year-old Romero Gonzalez at a west Macon apartment complex.

Another suspect was originally arrested in the death, but deputies released him, saying they had the wrong man. Others charged are Devin Smiley and Jamal DeShawn Roundtree.

The sheriff’s office says several men were gathered around Gonzalez’s car when he was fatally shot, and they all ran from the scene. Investigators believe someone targeted Gonzalez to rob him as he sat in his car.

Hollingshed is jailed with no bail set. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer representing him.
