GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a bar more than two years ago, police said.

Greensboro police said in a news release that Joel Adam McCarthy, 30, of Winston-Salem was charged on Monday with first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, the News & Record of Greensboro reported.

On Sept. 8, 2018, police responding to a report of shots fired found Jaylan Irvin Lassiter, 22, of Durham and a second shooting victim. Lassiter died at a local hospital, while the other shooting victim survived. McCarthy is jailed without bond and it’s not known if he has an attorney.
