PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say the deaths of a man and woman in an early morning fire in a northwest Philadelphia home over the weekend have been ruled accidental.
Fire crews were called to the West Oak Lane residence shortly after 4:30 a.m. Saturday. Police said a 64-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a 74-year-old man was pronounced dead less than an hour later at Temple University Hospital. A 17-year-old girl was listed in critical condition.
The Philadelphia department of health on Monday identified the victims as John Boone and Carleita Holmes-Boone. Both died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
