MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin health officials confirmed another 3,850 or so COVID-19 cases Friday,
The Department of Health Services reported 3,858 new cases, bringing the total number of infections in the state since the pandemic began to 429,957.
The disease was a factor in another 47 deaths, bringing the overall death toll to 3,991.
The department says 2.7 million people have been tested for the disease so far. That’s about 46% of Wisconsin’s population.
The Wisconsin Hospital Association reported 1,448 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Friday afternoon, continuing a decline from a record 2,277 patients on Nov. 17.
