MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - A man and a woman were found dead inside a Massachusetts home early Thursday by police conducting a well-being check and a 21-year-old man who lived in the house was charged in their deaths, authorities said.

Police went to the home in Middleborough at about 6:30 a.m. after getting a call from the male victim’s boss who said he had not shown up for work, police Chief Joseph Perkins said at a news conference.

An officer forced entry into the home and found the bodies.

Police later located Ryan True at a different location and charged him with two counts of murder.

True lived at the home and had a relationship with both victims, although authorities did not disclose the nature of the relationship. The victims’ names were not made public.

True was expected to be arraigned Friday. It was not clear if he had an attorney.

The deaths were the first homicides in the town of about 23,000 residents 30 miles south of Boston since 2013, Perkins said.

“This is a tragic and horrifying situation for obviously the family of the decedents and also here in the town of Middleborough,” Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz said.
