KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) - Police are investigating after a man was found fatally shot in a Kansas City, Kansas, neighborhood.

The shooting was reported around 10 p.m. Thursday in near North 62nd Street and Nebraska Avenue, and responding officers found a man with a gunshot wound. The man was rushed to a hospital, where he later died. Police had not released his name by late Friday morning.

Police said in a news release that one person was arrested, but it was not known whether that person has been charged in the shooting.



The shooting death is the 29th homicide is Kansas City, Kansas, this year, according to data kept by the Kansas City Star. That compared with 16 homicides in the city by this time last year.
