On Jan. 24 of this year, infectious-disease expert Anthony Fauci said that banning travelers from China was “not a good idea at this time.” On Feb. 19 he said, “Now, in the United States, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to wear a mask.” On March 9 he said, “If you are a healthy young person, there is no reason” not to go on a cruise ship.

Presidential candidate Joe Biden says that he will follow “what the scientists tell us.” But the science does not exist for an unknown virus that mutated and suddenly became 10 times as infectious as it was previously. In reality, what we have is not science, but pontification based on prior experience with something similar, while being unaware of the ability of COVID-19 to spread by microscopic droplets suspended in air through asymptomatic, pre-symptomatic and symptomatic spread.

Confronted by an unknown threat, scientists can only give opinions tainted by the bias of personal conviction — sometimes right and sometimes wrong. The same goes for empirically derived opinions of scientists who preach their own solutions for climate change, but ignore the contributory significance and consequences of 97% of world population growth occurring in Third World countries.
