WOODBURY, Vt. (AP) - A 55-year-old woman is dead after the car she was driving went off Vermont Route 14 in Woodbury, hit a pole and then rolled onto its side, state police said Tuesday.

Vermont State Police troopers responded to the crash at about 11:40 p.m. Monday.

There were no witnesses to the crash. Sawyer was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation found that the car driven by Betty Sawyer, 55, of Plainfield, was headed south when the car went off the road and flipped after hitting the pole, officials said.
