“Bikers for Trump” made sure there was no shortage of support for the president in Milwaukee this week despite the ongoing Democrat National Convention.
The Badger State looked like “The Biker State” as waves of motorcyclists revved their engines outside the Wisconsin Center and riders vowed to show up on Election Day.
“We don’t want them to think that because they have their convention here, that they took Wisconsin. Wisconsin ain’t theirs,” one man told a local NBC affiliate Wednesday. “It’s ours.”
Reporter Ben Jordan estimated up to 150 people took part in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem.
“We’re not concerned about their convention,” the participant added. “We wanted to show our presence and support for our president, Donald Trump. They come into Milwaukee, which is fine. That’s their prerogative. … We want to show support for our president.”
Inside the convention center, however, was a different story.
Sen. Kamala D. Harris warned a crowd that Mr. Trump “turns our tragedies into political weapons.
The California Democrat accepted the vice presidential nomination for Joseph R. Biden’s campaign and promised that he would be a president who “turns our challenges into purpose.”
