WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Police have announced an arrest in the death of a man investigators believe was shot to death in southeast Wichita during an argument.
Donovan Harrington, 25, of Wichita, was arrested Tuesday in the Monday morning shooting death of 27-year-old Miguel Tapia, police said.
Police found Tapia found around 7:30 a.m. Monday lying outside a vehicle with gunshot wounds, and he later died at a hospital. Investigators believe Harrington, Tapia and two women were inside the vehicle when Tapia and Harrington began arguing. Police believe Harrington pulled a gun and shot Tapia, then he and the women fled on foot and flagged down another vehicle to get a ride from the area.
Harrington was on parole for unspecified crimes when the shooting occurred, prosecutors said. He’ is currently being held on suspicion of second-degree murder, criminal possession of a firearm and parole violation.
