LANCASTER, Calif. (AP) - An 80-year-old man who was beaten and robbed inside a Southern California grocery store bathroom has died, according to his family.

Roberto Flores-Lopez was found with injuries to his face and head in the men’s room at Superior Grocers in Lancaster on July 8. He’d also suffered several broken ribs.

KABC-TV reported Flores-Lopez died early Wednesday. A cause of death wasn’t immediately given.

Days after the attack Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Damaris Wade, 22, and Tamika White, 33.

Wade allegedly assaulted and robbed Flores-Lopez. He’s charged with attempted murder. Prosecutors didn’t immediately say if they would add more charges following the victim’s death.

White accompanied Wade to the store, according to sheriff’s department.

It wasn’t known Wednesday if the two suspects have attorneys.
