SAN DIEGO (AP) - Cities near the California-Mexico border were shaken by a series of earthquakes on Monday.
The quakes were centered in a remote area of Baja California about 75 miles (120 kilometers) south of the border.
The largest by midday was magnitude 5.1 at 8:30 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It was felt across San Diego and Imperial counties and elsewhere in Southern California, according to the USGS community reporting website.
