OPINION:
Recently, one of our Democratic representatives was on TV speaking out against some racism in southern Maryland. And rightly so. My complaint with the representative is they are not also appearing on TV to make sure people know that the racism of Black Lives Matter is just as wrong (“Embers of racism, with Obama’s help, turned into an inferno,” Web, Juy 25).
The political left jumps to decry some racism, but not all. Why? Is it because they are racists themselves? Perhaps. One must look at the total behavior of the politician in question. Are they political hacks seeking only to defend the rights of those who vote for them? Or are they opportunists who jump on TV for the exposure and don’t want to cause any waves by standing up for the rights of people of all colors?
