Pedestrian struck and killed on highway

HOPKINTON, Mass. (AP) - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Massachusetts Turnpike on Sunday afternoon, State Police said.

The agency said the person was struck at around 3 p.m. on Interstate 90 in Hopkinton by a Mazda SUV driven by a 40-year-old Connecticut man.

Police say its not clear why the person was in the road at the time. They have also not yet identified the victim.
