ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) - A drop in advertising revenue caused by the coronavirus pandemic has caused the St. Joseph News-Press to drop print editions on two days of the week earlier than planned, newspaper officials said Thursday.
The paper will stop its Saturday print edition beginning April 18 and its Wednesday print edition on May 6. The newspaper had announced in late February that it planned to reduce its print editions by mid-year but said the drop in revenues prompted the changes now.
A larger Sunday edition that will include some features from Saturdays will begin April 19, according to a statement from David Bradley, publisher and editor, and Stacey Hill, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
