JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Police are investigating a string of shootings in Mississippi that killed two people, including a child, and injured three others in connection to each other.

The shootings happened in five locations in a four hour time span early Monday morning, Jackson Police said in a post on Twitter. The first shooting killed a man, Antwon Bolton, while he was in his car in a Taco Bell parking lot, The Clarion Ledger reported.

Police said another man was injured in the same shooting but did not suffer life-threatening injuries. Over two hours later, Jordan McCoy, 11, was fatally shot inside his apartment.

Another man and a child were injured when shots were fired inside their homes, but neither suffered life threatening injuries.

Police said no injuries were reported in the fifth shooting inside a home and that the vehicle descriptions from three of the shootings appear similar.
