Ohio’s Amish were in law enforcement’s crosshairs over the weekend for violating stay-at-home coronavirus rules issued by >Gov. Mike DeWine.

A party of roughly 100 people was broken up and one person was arrested Sunday in Geauga County after a tipster’s 911 call.

“When we got there, there was a barn full of people, ” Geauga Sheriff Scott Hildenbrand told a local Fox News affiliate Monday. “Some of them ran. There was one that was too intoxicated to run and that person had to be transported by ambulance.”

One individual faces a disorderly conduct charge while another was issued a summons for violating Ohio’s stay-at-home restrictions.

Two others were charged with underage drinking.

“If we get calls, or find out about them, we will go there, break them up and get them out of there,” Mr. Hildenbrand said. “We won’t tolerate this and we have to keep everybody safe.”

Geauga County Health Commissioner Thomas Quade said the development was “disappointing,” the station reported.

“I wish it wouldn’t happen,” he said. “Those folks are all placing themselves at risk.”
