BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $1.2 million for the Raleigh County, West Virginia, Community Action Association Head Start programs.
The state’s two U.S. senators, Democrat Joe Manchin and Republican Shelley Moore Capito, announced the funding for the program.
Head Start programs make it possible for children across the state to receive good early education, Manchin said in a news release.
The state’s future depends on young people’s education and development, Capito said. “All children in West Virginia deserve to have the opportunity to build a solid foundation for a successful future.”
