HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Chris Schletter has been named director of athletic bands and an assistant professor of music at Marshall University.

Marshall announced Schletter’s hiring last week. He replaces Adam Dalton, who was promoted to Marshall’s director of bands last year.

Schletter comes to Marshall from Ohio’s Marietta College, where he was the interim director of bands.

Schletter has conducted and performed internationally in the Tony Award-winning Broadway production “Blast!” and the American Chamber Winds. A music educator for 17 years, Schletter has taught high school in South Florida and at the college level while in graduate school.
