RIVER EDGE, N.J. (AP) - A sport utility vehicle was struck by a transit train in New Jersey, killing the driver, authorities said Tuesday.
A New Jersey Transit spokesman said the Pascack Valley Line train was heading to Hoboken when it struck the SUV at about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday in River Edge near the borough’s border with Hackensack.
The adult male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. His name wasn’t immediately released.
Authorities said the 10 people aboard the train were uninjured.
NJ Transit police and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department are investigating.
