ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police on Friday fatally shot a man after he allegedly shot at and then charged at officers.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the shooting happened Friday afternoon in the city’s Carondelet neighborhood. The name of the man killed, and the name of the officers involved in the shooting, were not released.
Police were called to a home Friday morning for a report of a burglary, Major Eric Larson said. Arriving officers saw a man running from the home and go into a garage, where he allegedly shot at officers.
As police set up a perimeter around the home, the man left the garage and charged at officers. Police shot and killed the man, Larson said.
The shooting will be investigated by the St. Louis Police Force Investigation Unit. No officers were hurt.
