WINNSBORO, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say an 87-year-old man was killed when a truck hit the lawnmower he was riding on a four-lane highway.
A news release says Elmer Jennings of Winnsboro was moving slowly and was hit from behind by a 2012 Ford F250.
The truck’s 25-year-old driver was not hurt. Master Trooper Michael Reichardt says the driver has not been cited. The accident is still being investigated.
The accident occurred about 6:40 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 425 just south of Winnsboro.
