SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Officials say a lightning-caused wildfire has burned through about 16 square miles (41 square kilometers) in a remote part of southern Utah.
KSL-TV reports the fire that was first reported to officials Thursday evening is burning in central Iron County and is 5% contained as of Friday.
No structures have been threatened.
Several wildfires are currently burning throughout the state.
A fire burning in Tooele County has reached about 3 square miles (8 square kilometers) and is 80% contained.
In the hills near Layton, a wildfire of about 0.2 square miles (0.5 square kilometers) is 76% contained.
Officials said this fire season has been mild been despite earlier concerns that a long, wet winter would grow more grass to fuel wildfires.
