NAUVOO, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Alabama have released the name of a 70-year-old man who investigators believe fatally shot his son and then killed himself.
Walker County Coroner Joey Vick on Wednesday identified the men as 70-year-old David Michael King and 38-year-old Brandon King.
Deputies on Tuesday found the son shot to death in his bed. The father died later at a hospital.
Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith said deputies were called to the home after the father showed video of his deceased son to a woman who had been in a relationship with the son.
Smith said the woman told authorities she was on the phone with the father when he said “she didn’t have to worry about him anymore.” The man then showed her video of the son’s body.
