OPINION:
President Trump gave two very important speeches at the United Nations, one on religious persecution around the world and the other, addressing the struggle to keep America independent and not an asset of a single, global government. The tragedy, for anyone paying attention, is that the current Congress remains laser-focused not on such issues, but on impeaching President Trump by whatever means possible. In the meantime, they are failing to perform their number-one elected duty: to represent the needs, issues and concerns of the people in their home districts.
I happen to like my representative, Rep. Steve Stivers, and I’m sure many voters around the country feel the same about their representatives as individuals. But one could easily make the case that as a group, it is the members of Congress who deserve impeachment.
What we have witnessed since Mr. Trump became president is not the pursuit of a corrupt leader’s removal, but an attempted coup led by the Democratic Party and aided by the deep-state intelligence community.
