PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Rhode Island has inched down a penny.

AAA Northeast announced Monday that the average cost of a gallon of self-serve regular dropped 1 cent in the past week to $2.50.

Rhode Island’s price is 15 cents lower than the national average, and 34 cents lower than the average Ocean State price a year ago.

AAA found a wide range of prices for regular, from a low of $2.35 per gallon to a high of $2.69.
