BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - Brookhaven police are investigating a shooting that has left two people dead.
Police Chief Kenneth Collins says officers responded to a domestic dispute call at 9:10 p.m. Thursday. He says the couple was found dead at the home in what appears to be a murder-suicide.
Both had been shot with a handgun.
The Daily Leader reports Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris identified the victims as 40-year-old Rebecca Rhodes and her husband, 44-year-old Shannon Rhodes.
The couple’s children were home at the time, but were not injured. Collins did not say if they witnessed the shootings.
Collins says the incident is under investigation. He would not say which person fired the gun.
McMorris says the bodies were sent to the state Crime Lab in Jackson for autopsies.
