JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - A former U.S. congressman has given $10 million to Saint Peter’s University’s business school.

The school will be named after Frank J. Guarini, a Jersey City native who represented New Jersey in the House of Representatives from the late 1970s to the early 1990s.

He also is a decorated World War II veteran who served as U.S. Representative to the United Nations General Assembly.

The gift will be used to build a state-of-the-art lab and make other physical improvements. It also will fund a lecture series, internship programs and study abroad.

It’s the second $10 million gift the school has received in the last 12 months. Last year, developer Joseph Panepinto gave $10 million to the Jesuit school. They are the largest gifts the school has received.
