ADDISON, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is inviting bird lovers to learn more about bird banding and conservation at the Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area in Addison and at nearby Snake Mountain.
Fish and Wildlife will be working with Otter Creek Audubon to hold the bird handing demonstrations.
Members of the public will help identify birds, overserve the banding process and release the birds after they have been banded.
Songbird banding will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 26 near the Dead Creek management area Visitor Center.
Evening owl-banding sessions will be held at Snake Mountain from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Oct. 11 and Oct. 18.
