CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - The security chief at the University of Virginia whose position was created in the aftermath of a torch-lit rally of white supremacists through campus has resigned.
The Daily Progress reports UVA’s associate vice president for safety and security, Gloria Graham, will leave her post Friday. A school spokesman who confirmed her departure did not give a reason.
Graham’s departure follows that of Tommye Sutton, the school’s police chief, last month.
Tim Longo, who was recently appointed interim chief of the police department, will now fill both positions.
Graham was hired in May 2018. She was expected to oversee the police department, emergency preparedness and public safety.
