WASHINGTON (AP) - Forecasters have issued flash flood warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of the Washington area.
Officials also issued a tornado watch through midnight EDT for the District of Columbia, central and northern Virginia, and much of Maryland.
The National Weather Service’s Baltimore and Washington regional office issued a flash flood warning Thursday night that applies to the Maryland communities of Germantown, Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village. The warning applies until 12:30 a.m. Friday morning.
The National Weather Service also released a severe thunderstorm warning until 10:45 p.m. for Washington; Arlington, Virginia; and Alexandria, Virginia.
