NORTHFIELD, Vt. (AP) - The nation’s oldest private military college will be bringing four candidates to become the school’s next president to its Vermont campus.

Each of the four candidates to become the next president of Norwich University in Northfield is being invited to spend two days on campus meeting with students, faculty and staff.

The names of the finalists to succeed retiring President Richard Schneider, who is planning to step down in June after more than 27 years as president, will be posted no less than 48 hours prior to their arrival.



The first finalist is due to arrive Nov. 4. All will have visited by Nov. 15.

Norwich currently has about 2,500 students in its corps of cadets and civilian students.
