CHESHIRE, Mass. (AP) - Massachusetts State Police have released the name of the man killed in a three-vehicle crash in the Berkshires.
Authorities say 61-year-old Anthony Emard, of North Adams, was pronounced dead at the scene on Route 8 in Cheshire at 7 a.m. Sunday.
The other drivers, 29-year-old Trever Field and 37-year-old Michael Taylor, were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The district attorney’s office said Field was driving south in a Jeep Grand Cherokee behind Taylor’s Ford Mustang.
When Field tried to pass Taylor, Emard’s Hyundai Accent approached from the opposite direction.
The preliminary investigation shows the Jeep struck the Ford when pulling back into the southbound lane, causing one of the vehicles to strike the Hyundai, which rolled over.
The crash remains under investigation.
