PLAINVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police say the driver of a car that went off Interstate 84 and struck a tree has died.

Police say 22-year-old Dominic Hamm, of Southington, was headed east on the highway at about 10:30 p.m. Friday when his car veered off the right side of the road, went down an embankment and struck a tree.

Hamm was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the car and no other vehicles were involved.



The crash is still under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact state police.
